Course Descriptions
PE 9 - PE 9 is introductory PE course that is mandatory for all freshmen at Liberty to take. This course consist of learning basic fitness components such as cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength and flexibility. This course also offers an introduction into individual, raquet and team sports. These sports include: flag football, soccer, ultimate frisbee, pickleball, badminton, volleyball and kickball.
Team Sports - Team Sports is a second tier course for 10-12 grade students. This course is very similar to PE 9 and covers similar fitness components such as cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength and flexibility. This course also offers an introduction into individual, raquet and team sports. These sports include: flag football, soccer, ultimate frisbee, pickleball, badminton, volleyball and kickball.
Dance, Aerobics, & Yoga - Dance, Aerobics, & Yoga is a course for 10-12 grade students. This course offers a diverse component of fitness that strays away from the typical sports model but still incorporates cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, and flexibility. This course includes Zumba, Dance Fitness, Yoga, fun games, and other cardio activities.
Weight Training - Weight training is a course that concentrates on a weight lifting component to fitness. Students will be instructed on safe and proper technique at the beginning of a semester to insure safety. Students will be given a workout each day to complete in the class. Weight Training workouts include but are not limited to; muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and balance.
5K Fun Run
The Issaquah School District's Physical Education Assessment is a 5K run at the end of each semester. All students enrolled in PE 9, Dance, Aerobics and Yoga, Weight Training or Team Sports will need to complete the 5K run. The students will work toward this goal daily in their PE classes and the teachers will use the website link below to help predict their 5K time based off smaller assessments throughout the semester (1 mile run, 1.5 mile run, and a 2 mile run).

The following is an off campus permission form that allows students to go for runs and walks off campus. This form also insures that the student understands the syllabus and has presented it to their parent/guardian.
